Progress report

Well It’s been a couple of days now and all I’ve done is a short brainstorm about the matriarch. I can’t read fast enough I tell you!! How interesting it is that as soon as I find a theme (this is what has stopped me from doing my art up until now…), I suddenly have a desperate urge to remove weeds from in between the paving stones… What am I so afraid of?!?! Tomorrow I genuinely do have some pressing matters to attend to, but once they are done I intend to have some sketches (at least!) to show you. Hmmm, accountability…

I have just started reading "The Matriarch" by Witi Ihimaera. Apparently this is an awesome book, full of Maori culture, family dynamics and spooky, spiritual deliciousness! It sounds so creative that I can't wait to dive into it! I was very inspired by another blogger, "Daub." at wordpress.com, who has created artworks based on the story of David and Bathsheba. So I have decided to follow suit and create some "Matriarch" inspired art. At this point my mind is screaming: "You've just told the whole world you're going to do this! Now you'll actually have to DO it!!!" What can I say, I have been struggling to find a theme for EVER. Now i have one! Thank you Daub. You rock!
